About Us
The delicate balance between the technical and artistic aspects of glassmaking first attracted Isaiah Heyer to kiln-forming in 2005. Honing his past technical skills as a Seattle-based data network professional, Isaiah purchased a kiln and began his creative adventure into the art of glassmaking. Through intensive study, practice, and time-honored techniques, Isaiah has perfected his glass-making craft. He compliments his already successful hardscape business on Vashon Island known as Island Garden Arts with new fused glass art.
About the fish: Being inspired on a tour in 2006 by Idaho Rivers United, Isaiah began the construction of glass fish for the garden. Each glass fish is uniquely handmade. They are fired in a kiln 4-to-5 separate times (depending on species) at various temperature ranges to produce the beautiful color variations, a process called glass fusing. The fish are made for a wall-mount application or for the garden.
Other glass creations are available on request.
